Not so long ago, Google made headlines for its’ outrageous hiring practices. Every method and manner of “testing” was used to try and develop a predictive algorithm for new hires. In the end, Google found that there was no such thing as a magic bullet when it came to choosing who would be best for Google.

Since then there has been a shift in hiring practices both in America and the UK, toward matching applicants with roles and organizational cultural fit. One of the tools used in this endeavor is psychometric testing. Unlike Google’s initial approach, psychometric testing is more of a compatibility assessment rather than a qualifying quiz.
