UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) 2018 report states that despite the international promise by governments to provide universal primary and secondary education there has been no progress in reducing the global number of out-of-school children, adolescents, and youth. This is of greatest significance across sub-Saharan Africa where it is estimated that more than 93 million children and youth of primary and secondary school ages are out of school; at least 15 million of whom will never set foot in a classroom, with girls facing the biggest barriers.

We believe that the foundation of any successful economy is a shared commitment to the education of its young people irrespective of social class, race, religion, gender, or disability. The importance of education cannot in our view therefore be overstated. Education ripples through all aspects of society, equipping the next generation with the knowledge, skills and self-belief which underpin national progress.

These are the reasons why we have expanded our international work, taking the decision to grow the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) arm of our consultancy to support lower-to-middle income countries. Here, we design and implement sustainable education solutions for governments and organisations across sub-Saharan Africa.
